Super Specific Sunshine Award

Today is a very special day for The Gaming Diaries. This is my 100th post and I decided to spend that dedicating a post to someone who nominated me for a blog award two months ago.

I should have been suspicious of nominating Matt from Normal Happenings for a blog award. I knew he had a tendency to get all super specific but I thought that was for the poor souls who he would be nominating. Sadly he went super sneaky as well as super specific by using tag backs to nominate me back. So I get to answer some super specific questions. In fact he has nominated me for a second super specific blog award more recently so I have some more of his questions to answer another day.

Now onto the super specific fun…

This one should be fun! Ask a person you’re close to how their doing, either in-person or over text messages. Then, as they reply, spend the next few minutes repeating back everything they say as a question. For example:
Friend: Are you just repeating back everything I say?
You: Everything you say?
How did they react? How long did it take before they wanted to kill you?

Well I did this briefly with Player 2 and it didn’t really bother him and I gave up when I felt like I was about to laugh which didn’t take too long to be honest.

How would you finish this joke?
A paperclip, a sticky note, and a pair of scissors walk into a bar…

And the barman says is this Microsoft Office 2000?

What is your favorite hour, of your favorite day, of your favorite month, of your favorite season? (Make sure you show your work — it helps to read this question backwards.)

12-1pm, Saturday, July, Summer. Basically any Saturday in summer though as it just feels so nice. I realise day could refer to one specific date but I’m going with as I read it.

And suddenly, you wake up. Real life has been a dream this whole time, and you’re actually living in the world of a book or video game. What’s more, it’s your wedding day. What character in what work is your soon-to-be-spouse?

I love the world of Harry Potter so I would love to be in that world. I have a soft spot for Neville if we go by the Harry Potter series or Newt if we go by Fantastic Beasts since both exist in the wizarding world so either would be fine by me.

Story time! The last thing you ate comes to life! Oh bother. Craft a story of five sentences or less with that sentient consumable as a central plot mechanic.

Ahhh! Argghh! Run away! The muffins attack!

Ahem. I’m not really good at story telling and had no idea what to do for that one. Basically I last ate* a muffin (chocolate, if you are interested). Maybe I will come up with a short story another time. Sorry Matt!

*at the time of writing.

I have a spider that has decided to make it’s home on the corner of my front door. It keeps rebuilding its web no matter how many times I knock it down. What should I name this resilient arachnid?

Peter. (Parker)

Oday ouyay igpay atinlay?

Eakspay? Not really.

Useless Superpower Bedbug: The Return!
Which of the following useless superpowers would choose and why?
– The ability to become invisible, but only when nobody is looking at you
– The ability to teleport anywhere within a 100 yard (91.4 m) radius… but the process takes longer than it does to walk there
– The ability to type backwards at the same speed as typing normally

The ability to teleport, even if it is slower than walking. It just sounds interesting and fun.

My desktop background bores me once again. What should I change it to this time?

A picture made up of pictures of all the games to be mentioned in the Games That Define Us. Or a picture of a screenshot of a picture of a screenshot of a picture of your desktop.

Describe how you feel about my super-specific questions, but give me the exact opposite of your true feelings.

Unhappy with having to answer these.

Thanks Matt for these questions and for being so super specific. Now be sure to keep an eye on Normal Happenings for all the fantastic posts but also for the super duper Games That Define Us collaboration that I am taking part in which starts in November.

I think we can all agree that Matt is super talented and organised for creating these images! Normal Happenings

Also does anyone miss Clippy since Matt’s question came up? Let me know if that is just me in the comments.

  1. I kinda do miss Clippy, in a weird way. My favorite character in 88 Heroes is based on Clippy, and gives terrible advice in the middle of trying to jump or attack enemies.

    1. That character sounds so good in such an odd way. It was just that question made me think of clippy and start missing the little touches from Word back then. I mean most of the time you ignored the advice or help being offered but still.
