Inktober 2018 Week 1

As I mentioned recently this month I am taking part in my first Inktober. In an attempt to get back to drawing and to do something also gaming and geeky related but in a way that I haven’t done properly in years I thought why not. I think about Inktober then end up not doing it but this year I am. I am not following the official prompts or any lists that I have seen but I have my own choice of characters, logos, symbols etc that I want to put in drawing form.

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook (or both) then you may have seen some images showing sneak peeks of my Inktober efforts.

Like this one!

But now for the reveal.

Day 1: Togepi

My favourite little egg. I had to draw Togepi at some point this month and decided this was the perfect start to this challenge.

Day 2: Boo

This could end up being my most appropriate Halloween drawing so maybe could have been left to the end of the month but oh well. There had to be a visit from the best ghost, or at least one of the best ghosts, in the geeky world.

Day 3: Alien Chef from Overcooked 2

I was originally going to draw my go to character from Overcooked, the cat chef, but when I was looking for a good picture to base the drawing off I saw this little alien and decided to change my chef. I wanted to colour it in but thought better of that.

Day 4: Isabelle from Animal Crossing (complete with leaf logo)

I love Isabelle and with the announcement of an Animal Crossing game for the Switch and Isabelle’s surprise addition to the world of Smash Bros she had to be drawn. The leaf logo is so recognisable for me as well, though I do wish I had green pens (or any pens) that weren’t fine line pens as that leaf is quite big and it took ages.

Day 5: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey symbol

With Assassin’s Creed Odyssey releasing I knew I wanted to immortalise the Assassin’s Creed series and decided the best way, for this day anyway, was to cover the symbol for Odyssey on its release day. I had thought about doing more but maybe later in the month. Maybe I will.

Day 6: Aku Aku

Apologies that this photo hasn’t come out well. You probably should have guessed that a Crash Bandicoot drawing of some format would appear this month and here one is.

Day 7: PlayStation Platinum Trophy

I got my first ever Platinum on Saturday night so I decided I would immortalise that event in sketch form. It didn’t come out quite how I had hoped but it is a nice enough drawing.

What was your favourite drawing so far? Are you looking forward to seeing what comes next week? Join me next Monday for the next series of fully revealed images for Inktober and follow me on Twitter/Facebook for sneak peeks in the mean time.

  1. Yes! Finally! πŸ˜€ These are great πŸ™‚ I think my favourite is actually the platinum trophy. I just really like the smooth curved lines and the whole drawing really comes together for me.

    1. Thank you! I’m not 100% sure on the platinum trophy as it came out a bit differently to what I thought it would be. I still like it enough to stick with it as that days drawing. I’ll probably end up loving it by the end of the month though.
