My Secret Valentine

The lovely chap, Ian, who blogs over at Adventure Rules came up with this lovely community event for Valentine’s day to share the love with fellow bloggers. Basically bloggers signed up to get sent, by Ian, a Secret Valentine who we were to send some love to, sharing posts we like and generally telling others all the nice things to check out for our secret Valentine in the form of a blog post. This is my post for my wonderful secret Valentine.

Well, Ian sent me my Valentine who is the super awesome blogger, Ellen at Lightning Ellen’s Release. So what is so awesome about her? Let’s take a trip into her blog and you shall see.

Ellen’s blog was one of the first blogs I followed when I started blogging last year. I can’t remember how I originally came across her blog but I was so glad I did. I look forward to reading her posts whenever I see one.

I’m going to start with her list of games for every year since her birth year. There is a great list of games here, starting with Super Mario Bros. 3. She makes some great choices. I have no idea if my list would look anything like this but she does make some fantastic choices.

Her writing is fantastic, and she can be creative in her titles for blog posts. For instance, how do you thwomp writer’s block. I wish I could thwomp writer’s block! It is a fantastic description for it. In this post she talks about her issues with writer’s block and in an effort to help others beat theirs pointed people in the direction of collaborations with other WordPress bloggers that were open at that time. This shows just how lovely she is. As despite her problems with writer’s block she wants to be productive and share what helps in a very real way that could also expand another bloggers experience.

She has taken part in Question of the Month previously and each time her answers were incredible. I mean answering Bowser to who would make a better Santa, or Taj the Genie to who is the most memorable video game NPC. The way she responds to these questions prompts make the posts great reads, as well as the answers she gave.

Other collaborations she has taken part in include Creative Christmas, with my favourite posts from that being Day 2 (Christmas gaming memories), Day 6 (an item or vehicle to help Santa) and Day 10 (borrowing an outfit). Then there has also been Blogger Blitz. In blogger blitz she put Lightning up for the challenge. This began with Round 1, to a semi final of soccer survival and on to the grand finale. Each of these scenarios posed and the answers given showed the creativity and writing skill that Ellen has.

Now you may have also worked out one thing… she is a big fan of certain characters, Dragon Age Origins and Final Fantasy XIII. Her enthusiasm for these are fantastic and make great reads, even if I personally know very little about Dragon Age Origins or Final Fantasy XIII (really sorry!) but she makes me want to try these (well I have tried older FF but it was so long ago I don’t remember much).

Also check her out on Twitter too!

Happy Valentine’s day to all.
